15th Anniversary Gearing Up for October 17th, 18th & 19th Film Festival

Milford, PA (May 2, 2014) – Getting ready for its crystal anniversary year, the Black Bear Film Festival just signed local agency, KKPR Marketing & Public Relations, to handle all marketing and communications for the upcoming film festival. In addition to the two companies’ early collaboration, Black Bear Film Festival is adding new events and promotions to the festival this year in honor of its 15th anniversary.

This year, the Black Bear Film Festival is slated for October 17th, 18th, and 19th with Gold and Gala passes going on sale in mid-September.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Katrina on a number of projects and I consider her a close friend,” said Jerry Beaver, Founding President of the Black Bear Film Festival. “Last year, KKPR helped us out at the tail end of the film festival and this year, we knew that if we were really going to make waves over the accomplishments of the last 15 years that we needed to hire a professional company. We are really excited about the partnership and can’t wait for this year’s festival.”

The nonprofit festival screens its films in the Historic Milford Theatre, located at 114 E. Catharine St. in Milford, PA, along with a film salon located in the Community Room at the Pike County Public Library. The film festival relies upon its sponsors and attendees to further its mission of supporting innovative and independent films, artistic expression, education and diversity, and cultural enhancement, as well as economic development for the tri-state area.

Last year’s major sponsors and media partners included Viamedia, Biondo Investment Advisors, Upper Mill Complex, Milford Chrysler Suzuki Sales, The Pocono Arts Council, The Pike County Dispatch, The Milford Journal Group, Atlantic Health System, Sussex Honda, Wells Fargo, and Kolmar.

“Over the last couple of years, I have really become fond of indie films, and the Black Bear Film Festival is a big coup for the community, especially with its growth over the last few years,” said Katrina Foster, Founder and Chief Difference Maker of KKPR Marketing & Public Relations. “We are honored to be a part of the film festival’s cystal 15th anniversary year.”
