When you’re in the live event industry during a world-wide pandemic, you suddenly find yourself propelled to evaluate your business, whether you wanted to or not, and figure out what’s next. With concerts, sporting events and conventions being canceled for the foreseeable future, it’s time to pivot…the word of the year.
Drape Kings—a 24/7 rental and staging company that had been raising the standard in the live event industry for the last 30 years—realized that if it was going to survive the pandemic, it needed to do something different. Overnight, the company transitioned from servicing events to assisting in COVID-19 rapid response needs. Drape Kings was commissioned by local, state, and federal government agencies to help build over 1,500 hospital beds with over 5 miles of drape in NYC in less than 5 days.
When life gives you lemons, successful people make lemonade. After taking a good look at where the world was going, Drape Kings pivoted swiftly and prepared to face the new normal and created Office Shields.
In the same swift manner that Drape Kings created Office Shields, the company turned its attention to launching the new brand to its extensive network and partners to ensure that the companies heading back to work could do so while keeping both their employees and customers safe.
In just one week, KKPR, alongside the Drape Kings/Office Shields team, worked together to create and launch a fully responsive, optimized website with e-commerce and custom form integration. Its primary goal is to keep people safe, but the ability to buy branded protective equipment such as branded masks for employees and hygiene dividers are a close second.
The quick turnaround was key to the new brand’s marketing initiatives and we were excited for the challenge. As people are starting to return to work, Office Shields is now engineering many ways to keep consumers safe as they return to everyday life.
