Glenda D. Shaw

In preparation for her first book, former television producer, Glenda D. Shaw needed to develop her digital presence after nearly 5 years out of ‘the game.’ Learn how we got to know her to create a creative, intellectual look to kick off her next professional venture.

Project:

  • Brand Development
  • Website Development
  • Brand Spinoff for Podcast

The big question that everyone asks is, “How do you establish a brand for a book that stands out in a digital era that is overloaded with information?” The short answer – be true to yourself, your brand, and your vision; and that’s exactly what Glenda did.

She spent the better part of the last 5 years learning everything there is to know about being a good friend, what makes friendships and people tick, and the psychology behind it to write “Better You, Better Friends – A Whole New Approach to Friendship.” But after finishing the book she realized she now needed a platform to generate interest in the ideas presented in her book. Having not touched her previous social media or website in nearly 6 years, it was time to start from scratch and create something truly unique to who she is today and where she wants to go.

With the same thoughtfulness that Glenda brought to crafting her book, she turned her attention to the colors, shapes, and ideas that she wanted to convey with her brand to evoke a sense of intelligent connectedness.

“For the logo, Glenda wanted her initials and something that could easily change through the brand colors for different applications. We chose a sophisticated typeface for the icon which nestles her initials together. Her full name is in cursive underneath to soften the overall mark and assure that it is approachable. The brand colors are chosen to be joyful and energetic but in tones to appeal to an adult audience.”

Once we had finalized the design of the logo, we took to developing her brand and how that should translate across the digisphere.

After a handful of conversations about the goals of the GlendaDShaw.com website, we took our ideas to task and developed her website with a creative, fresh and engaging look while also creating multiple blogging channels to differentiate her podcasts, blog posts, and favorite books. We went beyond just creating for the present, and we looked at what Glenda’s future goals were. With the hopes of ultimately having the ability to connect into third-party applications for future marketing efforts, we also included an online store that would effectively accompany her overall brand look and strategy.

In the development of these pieces, we easily flowed right into the creation of the look of her upcoming podcast series, The Friend Show.

“After the creation of the brand and website, Glenda’s podcast cover art was a smooth addition to the final package. We kept her brand colors and carried through the aesthetic from the website. The imagery represents females from all walks of life because we all need human connection and strong, healthy relationships.”

With all these pieces created and tied together, Glenda is now gearing up to release her book and kick off her podcast. The women of KKPR will surely be of the first in line for their very own first edition, signed copies of the book! Cheers!
